I Wandered Lonely as a Cloud

I Wandered Lonely as a Cloud
William Wordsworth

I wandered lonely as a cloud
That floats on high o'er vales and hills,
When all at once I saw a crowd,
A host, of golden daffodils;
Beside the lake, beneath the trees,
Fluttering and dancing in the breeze.

Continuous as the stars that shine
And twinkle on the milky way,
They stretched in never-ending line
Along the margin of a bay:
Ten thousand saw I at a glance,
Tossing their heads in sprightly dance.

The waves beside them danced; but they
Out-did the sparkling waves in glee:
A poet could not but be gay,
In such a jocund company:
I gazed---and gazed---but little thought
What wealth the show to me had brought:

For oft, when on my couch I lie
In vacant or in pensive mood,
They flash upon that inward eye
Which is the bliss of solitude;
And then my heart with pleasure fills,
And dances with the daffodils.

A new poem

Hmmm.... this was inspired by someone. I don't think I'll say who that is. ;) It's not exactly about them, just something they said inspired it.

Oh master of words
You wield your art
Like a sword
you go for the heart
or perhaps the jugular is your goal

Sit in judgment now
on your golden throne
like a king
Truth is yours alone
or maybe your truth is an illusion

Oh master of song
Your weapon thrusts deep
like a knife
You cut 'til they weep
or perchance until the blade cuts both ways.

finding the center

This is a work in progress. It's started.. not sure how I will finish it. Maybe I won't. I'm better at starting things than ending them sometimes. LOL

I mentioned to my pastor that I always remembered his birthday because it was so close to mine. It just goes to show you how self-centered I can be. Sigh.... it's funny how small our universe seems sometimes no matter how huge, and how huge it can seem when it is so small. I'm not sure that will make sense to anyone but me. LOL
The same with the concept I'm working on, but here goes:

Swirling stars find freedom with perfect design
no need to find the center
every particle in place in sublime beauty
An ant in the cosmos trying to be a giant
shrinking from the bigger picture, too self focused
Who is at the center when God should be
Oh to lose oneself in the stars, and in their creator
to be free from oneself and find in the true center
the liberty that perfect order brings

Still need a title

This was inspired by someone I may have seen recently. ;) Silently and Elegantly don't exactly rhyme, but I'm calling it poetic license. LOL I even have a photo to go with this one.

The old bass rests elegantly
Standing silently
waiting for the master's touch

Tenderly fingers caress the strings
They began to sing
The melodies that make one cry

The low sweet tunes evoking tears
And deafening cheers
Reaching out into the inner soul

Until at last the audience is rapt
Too involved to clap
Intruding on a private moment shared

Never to be the same.
