Going to the Dogs

So, I did make an effort this afternoon to take some dog photos. I did get a few, but I think I really need to go out a little earlier when the lighting is a tad more even. It was really bright in the sun, and much, much darker even with a little shade, and it was pretty much one or the other. I'm hoping I can get out when the lighting is a tad more even, if I can stand it. Unfortunately, the weather has been in the teens today, and according to Yahoo right now it is 8 deg. F outside. It's too cold for man nor beast. LOL

Oh, btw, the mystery of the unknown artist has been solved. The song "20 Cities" is by The Daylights. I knew it was very familiar. LOL BTW, if you haven't heard The Daylights, DO check them ought. They are very good!!!!

All I want for Christmas is normalcy?

I am sometimes my own worst enemy. I want desperately to get something done. I know the key is starting, but it seems like it is 2 steps forward 3 steps back.

Just thought I'd post again and say that Daisy had her visit with the vet, who thinks it is just a virus, and felt antibiotics would help with one of the issues she was having. I had virtually no sleep, so my daughter picked her up and took her to the vet for me. The vet gave her a shot, and some pills. She weighs 71 pounds (that's after being sick and not eating for 2 days.) She seemed better within hours. Tonight she was jumping on me (well... somethings I would prefer not be back to normal.) She ate a dog biscuit, so her appetite is back. She is sleeping on the floor by the computer.

I didn't sleep much, as Mollie (another dog) was whining most of the night - she hasn't done that in a while. So I was up after a couple hours of sleep, and then finally made it to bed after Daisy got back home. I think it was almost 2 p.m. before I really slept. I woke up at 7 p.m.

I've done almost nothing for Christmas. I think I'm in trouble. LOL

Adding Canine Cuteness to the Blogosphere

I've already had this up on my myspace blog for a bit, but thought I'd add it here. Besides, my blog could use a little photo cuteness about now. Molly & Baxter belong to my daughter. Molly is a bassett/cocker mix. She does well with people and loves attention, but she is not always great with other dogs. She is crate trained and house-trained, and in fact she actually LOVES her crate.

Baxter is a lover and gets along well with people and other dogs. He is house trained.

Why am I telling you this? Because Molly and Baxter need new homes. (And because they are cute.) :) My daughter has 4 dogs and the City only allows two. She has been cited and would like to find new homes for them asap. It's not that she wouldn't just love to keep them, but that isn't an option at this point. So, if you know anyone in or near Northern UT that would love to have a new friend at their place, let me know.

Yet one more photoblog - Daisy Mae

This is actually one of my two dogs. I didn't set out to get any pets, but I have managed to inherit two reasonbly large dogs, a terrier mix of about 50 pounds, and Daisy Mae, the chocolate lab. Daisy was sleeping outside using an old stump for a pillow, so I ran downstairs and grabbed my trusty SLR. I tried out the new photo harddrive cf card and it took so long to load that I missed the main event. I guess the new firmware on my camera is incompatible with the firmware on the photodrive, and I am sending it back to the manufacturer for a fix. At any rate, I still got a few cute pics through the kitchen window. It made the photos a bit "hazy" to photograph through my dirty windows, but adding contrast seems to have done wonders.
